Children's Books/Resources

I have found so many wonderful books and resources to use with my kiddos.  I am going to start listing them as I remember or use them!  This is just what we are currently reading right now.  I will try to post more soon!

The Big Picture Story Bible by David Helm - We are reading through this book right now, and my kids have not been so captivated by a book in a long time.  They beg for me to read another chapter!  I am thoroughly enjoying it with them!

The Boxcar Children Series

BOZ the Big Green Bear - my kiddos especially love the movies!

Anne of Green Gables (a children's version) condensed and adapted by Margaret DeKeyser

100 Ways to Know God Loves Me by Stephen Elkins - This is the best short devotional book I have found for little, little ones.  I bought this book shortly before my youngest was born, and I have tried to read it faithfully to her since she was a wee baby.  I love telling my kiddos God loves them.  This book includes two CD's that have a song to go with each devotional.  Some of them are good, some of them not so much, but I would definitely recommend the book!

God Gave Us Christmas by Lisa Tawn Bergren - Found this one by accident, and it makes me cry every time I read it to my kiddos!

Pray & Play Bible by Group - This is a great devotional for preschoolers.  It has activities, crafts and fun songs to go along with each Bible story.

Read 'n' See DVD Bible created by Stephen Elkins - Again, a favorite of my kiddos.  Watching the DVD helps the Bible stories seem so much more real to them.  The music is not as conservative as I prefer, but it is still overall a great book/DVD!

My First Little House Books by Renee Graef - A series of 14 condensed books that takes specific stories from the Little House on the Prairie Series by Laura Ingalls Wilder.  A great series for beginning readers.  I bought this set for my oldest daughter when she was in first grade.

Just Mom and Me Having Tea by Mary Murray - This is a book for moms and their 6-8 year old daughters.  My daughter and I have not begun this yet, but I have read through it and am looking forward to going through it with my little girl.  It is a six week Bible study for moms and daughters to complete together.  Each week ends with a tea party!

Storytime with the Millers by Mildred A. Martin - She has also written several other children's books about the Millers.  My kiddos love hearing the stories, and there is always a great Biblical lesson with each story.

Tea Parties with Purpose by Bobbie Wolgemuth - I loved browsing through this book and am looking forward to using it with my daughters this year.  It has great theme ideas for tea parties. The ideas include recipes, crafts, songs and devotionals.  So fun and easy!

Our 24 Family Ways by Clay Clarkson - This is the book our family is going to begin using this semester in our Bible time.  It deals with topics such as authorities, relationships, choices, attitudes.  It gives Scripture passages, questions, Bible verses, coloring pages and story starters for parents to use when discussing each topic.  Altogether it contains 120 days of devotions to use with your family!
